Medfusion 2011i Syringe Pump
- A syringe driver or syringe pump is a small infusion pump (some include infuse and withdraw capability), used to gradually administer small amounts of fluid (with or without medication) to a patient or for use in chemical and biomedical research.
- (Syringe Pumps) Operated by a syringe plunger mechanism which is powered by a motor-driven screw that progressively forces the plunger into the syringe barrel
Chemyx 10010 9.5" Length, 6.5" Width, 4.5" Height Fusion 100 Syringe Pump
The Fusion 100 is a high performance low cost syringe pump designed for use in synthetic chemistry, electrospinning, drug infusion and ESI microliter injections. Chemyx Fusion 100 is an infusion only syringe pump that performs most precision dispensing activities. This syringe pump comes equipped with a D9 RS232 port that directly accepts ASCII commands from Labview/Labwindows, HyperTerminal and Visual Studio without the need for drivers. Bright LCD and easy-to-use menu interface: A monochrome graphic LCD display and directional keys makes the Fusion 100 a very easy-to-use syringe pump. Users can set any parameter through a familiar "windows" like environment and change settings from Syringe ID, flow rate, volume and delay time. We also included an internal syringe library that stores syringe dimensions from major manufacturers. The flow rate can be changed while the pump is running. Smart operation: A miniature computer continually monitors the system while in operation and provides constant status updates via the LCD display. In the event of a power failure the pump will remember the last settings and can resume operation when power is returned. The Fusion 100 will also detect overloads, shut off the motor and warn the user with an audible alarm. An adjustable safety nut on the guide rod can be used to protect glass and microsyringes. Specifications: 2 No. of syringes, 0.5 microlitre to 60 ml syringe size, 6 lbs weight, 29 lbs linear force, +/- < 1 percent and +/-0.1 percent accuracy/reproducibility, 0.001 microlitre/hr (10 microlitre syringe) minimum rate, 90 ml/min (60ml syringe) maximum rate, 0.196 micrometer/step resolution. Easily utilized for a wide range of applications: ESI pump for mass spectroscopy, organic synthesis/ process chemistry, microfluidics, electrospinning, cell biology, microdialysis and neuroscience.

Oppression
I linked oppression and drugs through the symbolism of the syringe; a syringe is a piston pump which has a plunger fitted tightly within a tube. The plunger can be pulled and pushed along inside the tube allowing the syringe to take in and expel. As in oppression within the third world countries today, oppression expels its burdens on the third world workers and takes in the financial gain from the oppressed. Even within societies such as fair-trade the workers are still unknowingly oppressed and the hard work; physical and mental drain is oppressive.
This picture also symbolises how the fair trade movement is still not having much significance compared to the developing + developed countries like England and the US (western world). So this picture symbolises an injection of funding into the fair-trade market, focusing on developing the 3rd world, thus the symbolism of the milk and gastrostomy tube resenting the injection of life and development into the 3rd world. However the droplets of milk spilled from the body symbolises the corruption within the developmental country symbolising the possible feel of oppression from the 3rd world countries due to corruption into the Swiss bank- dark world of corruption sealed so that only the corrupt can enter
Forty Empty Syringes
Forty Syringes that will never see Insulin.
Forty Syringes that will never jab through my daughters skin.
Forty Syringes that would have lasted her all of ten days.
God bless whoever invented the Omnipod.
She is so much happier now.
