Birth of a Heat Exchanger
This is how it all started. Making the huge leap from a basic homebrew system to a recirculating one required buying 50 feet of 3/8 inch copper, some fittings and a one gallon metal can. All other purchases came later. The rest is history. The larger, outer coil was wrapped around some 6-inch PVC pipe. The smaller coil on the left was simply wrapped around a small Coleman propane cylinder that was handy. They fit very snly inside of one another, yet since they are wound in reverse directions there is good water flow around them. And that was a lucky accident.
This was in October of 2009. So maybe it was the conception of a heat exchanger, since it was born last week.... nine months later.
Air baby
Using the foot pump to fill buckets, for...well I didn't really catch why they kept refilling the buckets and dumping them down the long curb like part of the cement. But it must have been important cause they did it for like an hour.
